The Air Training Corps is an uniformed youth organisation welcoming anyone between 13 and 18 years old, male or female from all cultures, social backgrounds and religions, giving young people the chance to take part in a large range of exciting and challenging activities supervised by experienced members of adult volunteer staff.
The Air Training Corps was founded in 1941. With almost 35,000 members, aged from 13 to 20 years, within about 1,000 Squadrons, the ATC is one of the country's premier youth organizations and the world's largest youth air training organization. The Cadets are supported by a volunteer Staff of nearly 10,000 plus 5,000 Civilian Committee Members.

The motto of the Air Training Corps is: "Venture Adventure"
The Aims of the Air Training Corps are:
· To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
· To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
· To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
187 Squadron is the local air cadet squadron for the City of Worcester. The Squadron has exisited since the very formation of the Air Training Corps, being one of the 200 squadrons of the Air Defence Cadet Corps that created the ATC.

The Squadron Crest consists of a represestation of the City's Catheredral topped with three of Worcester's symbolic Black Pears.
The Motto "Fidelis" is Latin for Faithfull and links to the City's nickname of the "Faithful City" due to its unwavering support for the King during the Civil War
